Make Page Six a Preferred Source Jenna Dewan’s fiancé, Steve Kazee, is shutting down rumors of romantic “chemistry” between his soon-to-be wife and her “Dancing with the Stars” partner, Val Chmerkovskiy.
The singer, who proposed to the “Step Up” star in 2020, responded to an Instagram video that accused Dewan and Chmerkovskiy of getting too “touchy” during this week’s episode.
“They don’t have chemistry. They have too much chemistry. They have chemistry in the wrong places. Make up your minds. Y’all really got too much time on your hands. 😂 the spouses are unbothered stay hatin [sic],” he commented on the video.
In a separate comment, the Tony-winning actor cheekily added, “Also put some respect on my queens name and at least pronounce her name correctly when you try to slander her.”
The comment came after Dewan performed a rumba with Chmerkovskiy to Mariah Carey’s “It’s Like That.”
“DWTS” judge Carrie Ann Inaba also chimed in on the comments section, writing under the same video, “Dancers are physical beings. This is like the way we say hello. Don’t try to turn it into something it is not. Have some respect for both Jenna and Val and their partners please.”
Chmerkovskiy married his fellow “DWTS” pro dancer, Jenna Johnson, in April 2019 and share son Rome, 3.
Meanwhile, Dewan and Kazee started dating in October 2018, just months after the dancer separated from Channing Tatum.
The couple shares two children: son Callum, 6, and daughter Rhiannon, 2. Dewan also shares daughter Everly, 13, with ex Tatum.

However, this isn’t the first controversy that Dewan has faced since being cast on “DWTS” this season.
When it was announced that she would be on this season, some fans took issue with her background in professional dance.
Dewan was a backup dancer for Janet Jackson and co-starred in dance drama “Step Up” with Tatum.
The star defended her casting in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on Sept. 2, explaining that she doesn’t know how to ballroom dance.
“There’s parts of my dance training that’s helpful, obviously. I’ve learned choreography, I can perform, but there is a certain sense of unlearning for me,” she explained.
“It’s a new technique, brand new technique. It almost threw me off initially because I had to unlearn a lot of — I don’t want to say bad habits — but just habits of the style that I’m used to,” she said.
Dewan added that ballroom dancing felt very “foreign” to her.
Dewan and Chermkovskiy remain in the competition so far, after “Summer House” star Ciara Miller and her pro partner, Brandon Armstrong, were shockingly eliminated on Tuesday night.
New episodes of “DWTS” air Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, and are available to stream on Hulu the next day.
