The latest MacBook Air back to its pre-price-hike price for Prime Big Deal Days — Last chance to shop

Make New York Post a Preferred Source NY Post Composite Remember when the latest MacBook Air cost $1,099? Amazon does.

In June, Apple raised the prices of many of its products, and most MacBook Air models received an average price hike of $200.

However, Amazon just slashed $200 off Apple’s latest MacBook Air, bringing the 13-inch M5 model down to $1,099. That’s particularly notable because Apple raised the laptop’s price to $1,299 earlier this year, meaning today’s deal effectively restores the Air’s original launch price.

The thing is: this deal isn’t going to be around forever. In fact, it’s only going to be around for a few more hours, until Prime Big Deal Days comes to an end at 2:59 a.m. ET on Oct. 8.

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to upgrade your laptop, this is a pretty good one.

The 2026 MacBook Air packs Apple’s M5 chip (built for Apple Intelligence), 16GB of unified memory and 512GB of SSD storage, giving you plenty of power and space for everyday tasks, multitasking, photo editing and more. It also delivers up to 18 hours of battery life, so you can work or stream without constantly reaching for the charger.

The same laptop as above, just with a wider screen for those who need it.

This 11-inch iPad can handle all the everyday tasks you throw at it plus so much more. It’s lightweight, portable and packs Apple’s A16 chip.

If you want a heftier iPad that can double more as a 2-in-1 device, the iPad Air is it. It’s got an all-day battery life and incredibly smooth performance.

Prime Big Deal Days — fondly known as October Prime Day — is Amazon’s biggest fall sale, offering massive discounts before the holiday rush of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. October Prime Day runs from Tuesday, Oct. 6 to Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026.

Prime Day and Prime Big Deal Days are both Prime member-exclusive seasonal sales with massive discounts on rotating bestsellers. Unlike July’s Prime Day, Prime Big Deal Days runs every October as a precursor to the busy holiday season, allowing shoppers to start saving on gift shopping early.

October Prime Day is exclusively available to Prime members. However interested shoppers can grab a 30-day free trial to try Prime, and its many benefits with no strings attached, and gain access to exclusive deals and the convenience of fast, free shipping.

From reporting on Amazon sales for years, we can tell you for certain that Amazon’s October Prime Day is the ideal time to save on big-ticket tech, Amazon devices, gift-worthy clothing and beauty and skincare staples, household essentials and many more Amazon best-sellers.

Every Prime Day sale is a great chance to score deals on thousands of best-sellers, top tech and appliances and every day essentials, but Amazon’s October event also has great pre-holiday discounts on gifts. Our team diligently sorts through all the offers to find the very best items to grab on sale.

We expect the October sale to be Amazon’s last Prime Day of 2026. Already wondering when Amazon’s next Prime Day is? We anticipate Prime Day to return in summer 2027, but just-as-good (if not better) deals are coming this Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
