Of course, radio callers and their ilk have no power, nor should they.

The decision regarding Boone is entirely up to owner Hal Steinbrenner, who loves Boone and is super loyal to him (and most everybody else). George Steinbrenner’s son obviously also doesn’t adhere to his father’s maxim that a season without a World Series title is a failure.

If he agreed with his father, Boone might have been gone long ago.

It’s an interesting call again. Boone had a great regular season, helping the Yankees to the second-best record in the American League despite losing superstar Aaron Judge for half the season. But after whipping the rival Red Sox in the wild-card round, they put themselves in jeopardy of a second-round exit with a weak initial two-game showing vs. Tampa Bay.
