It sounds like Metta World Peace (formerly Ron Artest) may have found a calling. He is enjoying life as a Division II women’s basketball assistant coach at Cal State LA.
“I don’t follow the NBA. I don’t follow the WNBA. I don’t follow Division I basketball because I’m immersed in what I’m doing. I love coaching. Coaching is fun,” World Peace told Sports+ from Madison Square Garden during the Big East Tournament on Thursday. “It’s a whole different adrenaline rush. Coaching is extremely important [to me].”
The former St. John’s star and NBA champion was in town as part of the Big East’s legend recognition program.
