“Abbott Elementary” returns to ABC tonight, Oct. 7, for its sixth season.
Series creator and star Quinta Brunson teased to Entertainment Weekly that this new season will be one “for the boys,” marking major developments in both Gregory (Tyler James Williams) and Jacob’s (Chris Perfetti) character arcs.
The show will also delve back into the Janine (Brunson) and Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph) dynamic, as Brunson said, “What I think I can say is that that love affair will resurface very clearly this season.”
The season premiere is titled “Jungle Classroom” and the episode will follow Gregory and Ava as they adjust to a new dynamic. Barbara will turn to Jacob for help; Janine gives her classroom a makeover, and Melissa works to win hers back.
The sixth season will also include the show’s 100th episode. Deadline reported that the milestone episode will be filmed in Disneyland over the next month.
“Abbott Elementary” is on at 8:30 p.m. ET tonight, Oct. 7.
