Tesla (TSLA) is being valued more on expectations for its artificial-intelligence and autonomous-driving businesses than on current financial results, according to a Wednesday UBS note.
UBS analyst Joseph Spak raised his price target to $391 from $385 and maintained a Buy rating. Tesla shares have fallen 15.9% this year and 16.6% over the past 12 months, although the stock has climbed more than 7% over the past week.

The gap between earnings and the share price remains notable. Tesla reported second-quarter earnings of 33 cents per share, missing the 53.67-cent estimate, but the stock gained 9.15% during the next 30 days.
Spak said investor attention remains focused on longer-term opportunities including robotaxis, humanoid robots and AI. Tesla now operates robotaxi services across seven U.S. metro areas and has 1.48 million active full self-driving subscriptions.
Financial metrics remain weaker. Operating margin was about 1%, free cash flow was negative $1.09 billion, and automotive margin declined to 16% from 19%, leaving expectations around future businesses as a key factor in the valuation.
