‘Star Wars’ legend Mark Hamill unrecognizable in surprise ‘Carrie’ cameo

Make Page Six a Preferred Source “Star Wars” legend Mark Hamill looked unrecognizable in a surprise cameo for the new “Carrie” series.

The actor, known for his role as Luke Skywalker, portrays a fortune teller, with one eye half-closed, a mustache and a beard in episode six of the Amazon Prime Video show.

“He was so excited to just come out for half a day,” creator Mike Flanagan told People in an interview published Wednesday.

“His whole thing was just like, ‘Just don’t tell anyone I’m doing that,'” Flanagan, 48, continued. “He just wanted to be part of it.”

The showrunner gushed over working with Hamill, 75, saying it was “so fun” to see the icon “just chewing that set and creating this really fun character.”

Flanagan and Hamill have worked together, including in the 2023 horror mini-series “The Fall of the House of Usher” when the latter portrayed Arthur Pym.

Additionally, they worked on the 2024 Sci-Fi movie “Life of Chuck.”

“I just love the man,” Flanagan told the outlet. “They say never meet your heroes in this business, and I think he’s the exception to that in so many ways.”

Flanagan’s “Carrie” series is based on Stephen King’s 1974 horror book of the same name.

The TV adaptation shows Carrie, portrayed by Summer Howell, navigating the death of her father while living with her controlling mother in the wake of a high school bullying scandal and telekinetic powers.

The series also stars Margaret White, Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Joel Oulette, Josie Totah and Arthur Conti.

While moviegoers are familiar with the 1976 adaptation of “Carrie,” Flanagan told People the story takes viewers “to a very different place.”

“This isn’t the Carrie White we’ve seen before,” he said. “It’s not the prom we’ve seen before.”

Flanagan shared the series was done with “King’s enthusiastic support.”
