Mark Stevens, a venture capitalist and Nvidia Corp. director, topped a list of insider stock sellers in the third quarter dominated by billionaires tied to the artificial intelligence industry, according to Bloomberg, citing data from the Washington Service, which tracks insider buying and selling.

During the quarter, Stevens offloaded 4,236,740 Nvidia shares, generating proceeds of approximately $946.6 million, the outlet reported. His net worth stands at $12.2 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, and he remains Nvidia's second-largest individual shareholder after CEO Jensen Huang.

Jayshree Ullal, who chairs and leads Arista Networks Inc., came in at number two, with 2,226,435 shares changing hands for proceeds of around $446 million, according to Bloomberg. Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos came in sixth, selling just over 1.2 million shares of Amazon stock for roughly $346.5 million. Together, the three hold a combined fortune of $302 billion, per the same index.

The quarter was a turbulent one for technology stocks. Shares tied to artificial intelligence fell in July as investors grew anxious over the vast capital being directed into the sector, staged a partial recovery, and then slid again when Anthropic's Dario Amodei and OpenAI's Sam Altman publicly urged a deceleration in advanced AI development in mid-September, according to Bloomberg. Many of those stocks subsequently rebounded. Nvidia's stock valuation approached its cheapest level in more than a decade during the period.

Not everyone on the list came from the AI sector. Illumina Inc. director Keith Meister ranked third after selling approximately $436 million in Illumina stock, and SharkNinja Inc. chair Xuning Wang ranked fourth after receiving a one-time limited waiver from the company's board to sell a portion of his holdings valued at about $401 million. CoreWeave Inc. chair and CEO Michael Intrator placed fifth with roughly $347 million in sales of CoreWeave stock, according to the outlet.

Bezos disclosed plans in August to sell up to 15 million Amazon shares worth more than $4 billion under a pre-arranged trading plan adopted in November 2025. Amazon has since crossed the $3 trillion market-capitalization threshold, becoming only the fifth company ever to do so, alongside Nvidia, Alphabet Inc., Microsoft Corp., and Apple Inc.

In contrast to the second quarter — when the top-sellers list was dominated almost entirely by AI insiders — the most recent quarter drew in senior executives from healthcare and biotechnology, among them United Therapeutics Corp. chair and CEO Martine Rothblatt and BeOne Medicines Ltd. chair and CEO John Oyler, according to the outlet.
