When Does The ‘Power’ Franchise Return To Starz? Here’s the Latest on ‘Raising Kanan,’ Origins,’ and More

@joshsorokach Published March 12, 2026, 3:30 p.m. ET More On: Starz When Does The ‘Power’ Franchise Return To Starz? Here’s the Latest on ‘Raising Kanan,’ Origins,’ and More Is the James Van Der Beek Movie ‘The Gates’ Streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video? When Does ‘Outlander’ Season 8 Episode 2 Come Out on Starz? How Many Episodes Are In ‘Outlander’ Season 8? A lot is happening over on Starz.

Outlander is back for its eighth and final season, Season 2 of the BMF documentary Blowing Money Fast recently debuted on the platform, and, of course, the fifth and final season of Power: Raising Kanan premieres in June.

Fans are understandably excited about the return of Raising Kanan, but, thankfully, it’s not the final installment of the network’s ever-expanding Power-Verse. Production on Power: Origins, a spinoff prequel that delves into the origin story of Ghost, Tommy, and Kanan, has already started, and a new Joseph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr.-led series set in the present timeline, Power: Legacy, is in development.

Just a reminder that all six seasons of the original Power are currently streaming on Starz and Hulu.

When exactly does Raising Kanan return? Does Power: Origins have a release date? Here’s everything you need to know.

Yep. The series finale aired in January 2026 on Starz.

The fifth and final season of Raising Kanan is set to debut Friday, June 12 on Starz.

The fifth season will highlight Kanan’s “true ruthlessness.” Per Starz, “he knows exactly who he is and who he must become to defeat his enemies. Kanan solidifies his place in the Queens drug business alongside Southside legend Breeze (Shameik Moore), and their alliance sets the stage for a reckoning that will ripple through every player in this dangerous game.”

Production on Power: Origins, a spinoff prequel that delves into the origin story of Ghost, Tommy, and Kanan as ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise in New York City, began in December of 2025. Described as a “fun, rambunctious exploration of a new time period in the Power franchise,” the series stars Spence Moore II (Ghost), Charlie Mann (Tommy), and Mekai Curtis.

Power: Origins recently announced the addition of Zuri Reed, who will portray the younger version of Naturi Naughton’s character Tasha.

There’s no official release date (I’d guess late 2026), but the first season will consist of 18 episodes.

Another spinoff? Sure! Why not?! In June 2025, it was announced that Power: Legacy, a new series set in the present timeline featuring Joseph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr. reprising their roles as Tommy Egan and Tariq St. Patrick, respectively, is in development.
