Iran supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei had chilling threat to US hidden in his first message — and why he won’t show his face

Iran’s newly appointed supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei included a disturbing threat of attacks on US soil in his first message to the world — but it’s clear he’s either too hurt or too incompetent to deliver it himself, experts said.

In his first address to the people of Iran, Khamenei said the Islamic Republic would “obtain compensation” from its enemies following the joint US-Israeli strikes that killed his father, his wife and son and other top leaders.

The message was a clear call for Iran’s allies abroad to take revenge for the Islamic Republic, Khosro Isfahani, the research director for the Washington-based National Union for Democracy in Iran (NUFDI) think tank, told The Post.

“It hints at activating terror cells, like the warnings that have come out of Europe and the US, and the reports of preparing strikes on the west coast,” Isfahani said.

“These are desperate measures by a collapsing regime that sees no other choice but to escalate,” he added.
