Cam Schlittler is all-in on his Yankees’ future

New York Yankees Cam Schlittler is all-in on his Yankees’ future By Dan Martin Published March 11, 2026, 7:44 p.m. ET Yankees starting pitcher Cam Schlittler (31) throws a pitch during the first inning against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field. IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect TAMPA — Cam Schlittler started for the Yankees against Toronto on Wednesday night at Steinbrenner Field, but he already has his eye on getting back to The Bronx — and staying there.

After the right-hander’s memorable debut with the Yankees last season, which culminated with a pair of postseason starts — one solid and one spectacular — Schlittler said he never wants to pitch anywhere else.

“I want to be here my entire career,” Schlittler said this week at Steinbrenner Field. “This is where I want to be. I love it here. It’s all I know: I got drafted by the Yankees. I wanted to be drafted by the Yankees and I never want to leave. I know some of it’s not in my control, but if I could, I’d choose to be here the whole time.”

There have been other pitchers who have made a fast impression with the Yankees. While some have had a decent run of success — like Phil Hughes — others have flamed out quickly, like Hughes’ teammate, Joba Chamberlain.
