Phoenix Phillips, 24 — whose dissperanced has been described as “concerning” — was last seen Friday in downtown Cleveland, police announced on Sunday.
He is described as 6-foot-1 and weighing around 170 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. The Cleveland,Ohio Remembrance Page “He’s from out of state, so he was in town visiting and at some point kind of got separated from the person he was with, and after that, you know, we’re still trying to determine what actually happened,” Cleveland police spokesperson Sgt. Freddy Diaz told WEWS.
Phillips went missing after traveling out of state for an NFL football game and was last seen in Cleveland on Friday, Oct. 2, according to police. Cleveland Division of Police Phillips journeyed to the Cleveland area from Perryville, near Baltimore, for the Steelers-Browns rivalry matchup, according to Sylvia Colon, co-founder of local non-profit Cleveland Missing.
Social worker Breejanee Alford told WEWS she met with Phillips’ “devastated” family.
“They’re telling me that he’s a loving dad and he also loves the Steelers. That’s why he came for the Browns game,” she said.
A body was pulled from the Cuyahoga River near Jacobs Pavilion on Tuesday, according to Cleveland 19, though officials have not confirmed if it is tied to Phillips’ case.
