Bomb threat at California Montessori school prompts police response

Make California Post a Preferred Source A Northern California elementary school was evacuated Tuesday after officials received a bomb threat, authorities said.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded around 1 p.m. to California Montessori School on Kermit Lane in Carmichael after the school received the threat.

The campus was evacuated as deputies and bomb-detection dogs swept the property, according to the sheriff’s office.

A Northern California elementary school was evacuated Tuesday after officials received a bomb threat, authorities said. All students were accounted for, according to the authorities.

California Montessori Project’s Carmichael campus serves students from TK through eighth grade and has more than 680 students enrolled, according to the school.

The school is part of the California Montessori Project, a tuition-free public charter-school network serving more than 3,000 students across six campuses in the Sacramento region.

Carmichael, an unincorporated Sacramento County community, has a population of roughly 80,000 residents.
