Make Page Six a Preferred Source Michael Douglas recalled an unfortunate incident with Julia Roberts where he threatened her with a Golden Globe, in his new memoir out today.
In “One Helluva Ride,” the Oscar winner, 82, writes that he and Roberts were both at a Golden Globes party. She was shooting “Flatliners,” a 1990 horror flick, that also starred her then-fiancé, Kiefer Sutherland.
Douglas, who was producing the film, had brought his son, Cameron, 13, as his plus-one.
“We were at the bar, and Julia had her arm around my son, kind of nuzzling him,” he wrote. “To me, in that moment, he looked stunned…but I was pretty drunk.”
The “Fatal Attraction” star remembers telling Roberts: “Take your hands off my son and take that Golden Globe and stick it where the sun don’t shine.”
The next morning, Douglas received a call from his producing partner, who had heard about the incident.

“I’d crossed a line with the most in-demand young actress in Hollywood,” the “Wall Street” star acknowledges.
He sent Roberts a bunch of roses along with a note and apologized in person to her and Sutherland.
“Luckily, they forgave me enough to get through that and finish the picture,” he writes. “I remained friends with Kiefer. Julia, not so much.”
A spokesperson for Roberts did not reply for comment.
A couple of years later, Douglas entered rehab for alcohol and substance abuse.
The memoir is packed with tales from Douglas’ long career in Hollywood, including his on-set fling with Kathleen Turner while filming “Romancing the Stone.”
“We found each other first as friends, then as co-stars and finally as lovers,” he writes. “Following an exhausting day of shooting in the jungle … I would sneak into her hotel room after everybody was asleep.”
The affair ended when Douglas’ wife, Diana Luker, and Cameron visited the set, and Luker confronted Turner.
