Make California Post a Preferred Source A Bay Area father allegedly left his three young kids home alone before bringing his gravely injured wife to a hospital and confessing to her brutal murder.
Roy Anthony Lopez –– a 37-year-old man from Morgan Hill –– was arrested after arriving at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose at around 9:20 a.m. Saturday and admitting to killing his wife.
Hospital staffers then went outside to his car where they found an injured woman.
“First responders located an adult female victim inside a vehicle parked at the hospital. Paramedics provided immediate emergency medical care, but the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the Morgan Hill Police Department (MHPD) said.
“SJPD officers detained Lopez without incident until MHPD officers arrived, took him into custody, and transported him to Morgan Hill for questioning. Lopez was later booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on a charge of murder under Penal Code section 187(a),” authorities added.
A preliminary investigation found that the incident happened at a home in the 1100 block of Vintage Lane in Morgan Hill. Police also found three children — ages 14, 6 and 3 — at the residence.
The children were taken to the Morgan Hill Police Department and “released into the custody of the Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children’s Services.”

This comes as a high-profile shooting occurred just an hour south of Morgan Hill nearly a week ago.
A New York Times executive was fatally shot by his in-laws at a parking lot in Dublin on September 26 after previously threatening to murder his wife and her parents.
The exec, who is trans, also apparently gave his children a book about a young girl whose mom died and was in the middle of a nasty custody battle with his wife before his death.
