Uptown toasts the New York Philharmonic’s Gustavo Dudamel, and other items from the column

Make Page Six a Preferred Source Baton ball Uptown welcomed Gustavo Dudamel to the New York Philharmonic on Wednesday with a breathtaking bash that had its crescendo at the new Brasserie Boulud.

Two of high culture’s most generous philanthropists, Barbara Tober and Elizabeth Segerstrom, hosted the party for the Met’s new conductor right after he finished performing at David Geffen Hall at the Lincoln Center. The party also honored Tober and Sederstom’s late husbands, Sweet’n’Low mogul Donald Tober and South Coast Plaza developer Henry Segerstrom.

Barbara and Elizabeth treated pals including Candace Bushnell and Francine LeFrak to heaps of caviar during the intermission of the performance, and then more friends including with Peter Marino, Daniel Boulud and Katherine Gage Boulud, Bill Burford and Jessica Green, Yue Sai Kan and Allan Pollack, Judith Pisar, Kip Forbes, and many more, partied on at the restaurant with Dudamel receiving toasts, hugs and handshakes all evening.

Donald died in 2021 at 89 after a battle with Parkinson’s, and Henry died in 2015 at 91.

New York Times obituary writer Sam Roberts gave a sneak peek of Rudy Giuliani’s obit – and we’re sorry to says there’s some bad news for America’s Mayor. When Nayeema Raza asked Roberts on her “Smart Girl, Dumb Questions” podcast for the “meanest” piece he’s written, he confessed it is the one for the DA-turned-mayor-turned-Trump-toady who has an almost unique gift for getting himself into embarrassing scrapes.

Raza guessed that the regrettable incident in which Giuliana was filmed lying on a bed and reaching down his pants to remove a TV mic pack in the “Borat” movie would make the obit (Roberts confirmed) and she guessed correctly that his futile campaign to prevent Mayor Mamdani from attending the 9/11 Memorial service would be included. Finally, Roberts confirmed that the antic in which Giuliani arranged a press conference about “election rigging” at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping store rather than the Four Seasons hotel would be forever inscribed in his obit. “It’s not to make fun of the guy,” Roberts said, “but it just says something about his personal demeanor.”

You’re gonna flip. Downtown tabloid On The Rag launched its third issue this week. If you read from one direction it’s Samuel Loren’s buzzy literary paper, but flip it upside down and turn it around and it’s an issue of Tif Sigrid’s artworld mag “Umm…” “I didn’t know almost any of the artists Tif brought into the issue, and she didn’t know hardly any of the people I brought in,” said Loren, “We assumed we were part of the same world, but realized we were speaking to two completely different generations. The issue became a way of smashing those worlds together.”

Andrew Kreps of the Andrew Krepps Gallery, Susan Inglett of the Susan Inglett Gallery, Ben Davis of Artnet News, Peter Mendelsund of the Atlantic, and Vice’s Nick Dove attended a rager to fete the new twofer issue at a sprawling private home on Fifth Avenue. Spies also spotted maven Jane Pratt– who Page Six just reported was seen ducking out of an art party because of the lingering effects of a broken sternum — seemed back to being match-fit and launch-party ready.

It’s the end of an era for downtown nightlife. Socialista, the cool kid club located above Cipriani in Soho, has permanently closed its doors, we hear. But the space won’t stay dark for long: A source tells us it’s set to reopen as Living Room, a lounge concept that debuted at Cipriani’s Miami outpost in December 2025 in the space formerly occupied by Socialista. The downtown hotspot was still making headlines just last week, when club king Richie Akiva held an after-party there following his birthday bash at the 1Oak pop-up. A rep for the venue did not respond to request for comment.

Bill Murray tested his quips on “the greatest live band in the world” this week when he introduced the Tedeschi Trucks Band at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival in Austin. The funny guy met the band’s founder, Derek Trucks, backstage. “I remember Bill asking me if I was Derek from Derek and the Dominos when I first arrived. He seemed to be workshopping his intros throughout the night,” Trucks told Page Six. Trucks explained Murray’s jokes gave him pre-show jitters. “Standing backstage, waiting to go on stage, and not being able to hear him speak, but hearing the crowd laughing here and there, and [I was] just wondering what he was saying – and hoping it was good,” he said. It turned out Trucks had nothing to worry about. Murray introduced them as “the greatest live band in the world right now,” which Trucks told us was “high praise from somebody that we are a fan of.” We’re sure Murray’s co-sign didn’t hurt when they hit the stage again on Thursday night to perform at Radio City for Buddy Guy’s 90th birthday.

Aussie director who helmed the upcoming Netflix miniseries “East of Eden,” based on the John Steinbeck classic and the 1955 movie, said there was some serendipity involved when he landed the gig. “I had never seen the movie,” he told PageSix.com’s Nicki Gostin at the show’s premiere.

“I read the scripts, I got on the plane to meet Zoe (Kazan, the screenwriter), and lo and behold, there’s ‘East of Eden’ on the plane, and that was a sign…It was bizarre; it just popped up.” For film fans keeping score, Zoe’s grandfather, Elia Kazan, directed the classic flick starring James Dean.

Cabaret star Bridget Everett says life is completely different from before her HBO series “Somebody Somewhere” and now. “I used to always have to call . . . the Chase line- to check my balance,” before going out to dinner, she told PageSix,com’s Nicky Gostin at the New York City Ballet 2026 Fall Gala. “So now I don’t have to call that number anymore,” Everett says, adding that she can now take pals, like Murray Hill, out to dinner. “We like to go to steakhouses and get the sides. I don’t like to eat beef, but I like the martinis and the sides, and that’s a party for me.” The “Inside Amy Schumer” alum, who has an impressive cleavage, offered advice for other top-heavy gals. “They’re just t-ts, let it rip!”

Kevin Hart, who has been filming “Spy Duo” with Henry Cavill in New Jersey, is the latest heavyweight comic that has been stopping by the famed Comedy Cellar for surprise sets.

A source tells us that Hart popped by this week for an hour long set to test out new material, riffing on family and golf trips. We hear he was also in the week before, with a source telling us he also likes coming by to hang with other comedians. When we asked the venue’s owner Noam Dworkin for any details he cracked of the diminutive star, “He’s taller in person.”

Celeb chef Bobby Flay swears he doesn’t play the macho guy in the kitchen. “I don’t have a shtick,” he told PageSix.com’s Nicki Gostin at the 2026 Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame. “I’m exactly who I am….I’m a native New Yorker, a guy from the city.” Okay. Favorite hot dog stand? “Probably my local stand, the local hot dog guy. I’ve been eating those hot dogs since I was a kid.” Favorite donut? “Donut Plant,” but said “I don’t hate Dunkin’, I think they do a good job.” Pizza? “L’Industrie is great, Lucali, Mama’s TOO! Joe’s, old school, is fantastic, and if you cross the Holland Tunnel into Jersey City, there’s a place called Razza; that’s fantastic.”

SARAH Jessica Parker arrived to the New York City Ballet 2026 Fall Gala on Thursday night, with a ginormous ribbon wrapped ponytail that her husband, Matthew Broderick, quipped he was responsible for. A spy overheard a guest telling Broderick, “your wife looks great. That’s quite a ponytail,” in which he joked, “I did it! If I need her attention, I pull it.” Parker is the vice chair of the ballet’s board of directors and appeared to be on cloud nine during cocktail hour on the plaza at Lincoln Center.

“I love that you can actually smell the fountain,” she gushed to PageSix.com’s Nicki Gostin. “I love this night. It’s hard to imagine it’s been this many years. It’s our 14th year, and it continues to grow,” she said. Amy Sedaris. Nicole Ari Parker, Fran Drescher, socialite Jean Shafiroff, Julia Fox, Amy Sedaris and honorary chair Stevie Nicks were also on the scene. “The Real Housewives of New York City” star Jessel Taank was also spotted having a reunion with former co-star Ubah Hassan. Taank attended as a guest of Bloomingdale’s group vice president of integrated marketing, Kevin Harter.
