Chiefs’ Tyquan Thornton suffers horrific ankle injury after big play against Raiders

Make New York Post a Preferred Source Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton went from celebration to anguish in mere seconds after pulling in a huge catch late in the fourth quarter against the Raiders.

Patrick Mahomes hit Thornton with the big pass to put the Chiefs around the Raiders’ 5-yard line and Thornton quickly popped up to celebrate, but just as quickly fell back down to the ground in agony as he realized his ankle had been injured and was bent in an unnatural position.

The trainers did put him in an aircast before he was taken off the field.

Prior to the injury, Thornton had five catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
