Make Page Six a Preferred Source Anne Hathaway hilariously vanished in a video marking the end of promotional events for five movies she has released this year.
In an Instagram video shared Friday, the Oscar winner explained that she was on her way to the premiere of her thriller “Verity,” which debuted the same day.
“‘Verity’ comes out in theaters Friday, Oct. 2, and then on Oct. 3…,” she says before dissipating into a puff of fake smoke.
Someone from her team appears to be confused by the Hathaway’s disappearance before the screen shows faux news stories featuring the “Princess Diary” star’s “disappearance.”
One headline reads, “Anne Hathaway simply evaporates,” while another reads, “As promised, Anne Hathaway vanishes into a plume of smoke.
“Thank you everyone for your support, and for making this an incredible, unforgettable year,” she wrote atop the clip, captioning the post, “Over and out @verityfilm in theaters today!”

The gag comes after Hathaway, 43, told Entertainment Tonight last month that she was “going to vanish in a plume of smoke” after wrapping her promotional duties on “Verity” — the latest 2026 release from her after “Mother Mary,” “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” “The Odyssey” and “The End of Oak Street.”
“And you’re not gonna see me until you have to,” she joked, noting that she was “definitely going to take some time off” following the rigorous press circuit.
“I’m joining Tom on the track in March,” she added, referencing her upcoming co-starring role with Tom Cruise in the recently announced “Days of Thunder” sequel.
Hathaway — who went public with the news that she’s expecting her third child in June — is already mom to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6, whom she welcomed with husband Adam Shulman.
The “Les Misérables” actress quipped that baby No. 3 is her “buzzer beater” during an interview on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” in July.
Hathaway confessed she and her husband “knew what [they] were doing when they conceived” and that the pregnancy was planned, but were nonetheless were “so shocked it worked.”
