Make Page Six a Preferred Source Gisele Bündchen is “not bitter” over her divorce from Tom Brady and is “grateful” for the time they spent together.
“She always thought she would be married to Tom for the rest of her life,” an insider told People Tuesday. “The divorce was very upsetting, and she struggled to understand it at the time, but she’s not bitter.”
The insider noted that the supermodel is “grateful for their children and the years they shared.”
“She’s very spiritual and looking back, she feels the universe had another plan for her,” they added.
The former couple wed in February 2009 and Bündchen became stepmom to Brady’s son Jack, now 19, whom the former quarterback welcomed with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan in 2007.
Brady and the fashion icon went on to welcome son Benjamin Rein Brady, now 16, in December 2009, and daughter Vivian Lake Brady, now 13, in December 2012.

In October 2022, the couple announced their divorce, stating their priority was to focus on their kids.
At the time, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel explained that they split because they simply had “grown apart” after 13 years of marriage.
Also around that time, Brady notably announced his retirement from the NFL, just to walk back on the decision a month later.
In his new book, “Brady: An American Story and the Price of Greatness,” author Lars Anderson claims an insider told him that Bündchen pulled the plug on their marriage after telling Brady: “We’re not compatible.”
The author also claims Bündchen begged Brady for more help with their kids and attention to their family in a “serious” handwritten note before making the decision to leave him.
“She was getting tired of living on Tom’s schedule and being somewhat in his shadow during football season,” a former teammate of Brady alleges, per Anderson’s book.
“She has a lot of pride, too. And, I mean, how many times did you see Tom supporting her career? There clearly were imbalances there,” the source added.
Bündchen has since married jujitsu instructor Joaquim Valente in December 2025. The couple are parents of a 1-year-old son whose name has yet to be revealed.
As for Brady, he’s since been linked to model Irina Shayk and internet personality Alix Earle.
