CloseThe world-famous Palm House at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in London is about to undergo a massive makeover.

The £66m restoration is taking place because the hot and humid conditions inside the Victorian glasshouse have taken their toll on the ironwork and glass.

The work will begin in autumn 2027, and the Palm House will be closed for up to four years.

But before it can start, the glasshouse has to be completely emptied of the 1,300 tropical plants and trees it has inside.
