CloseAnger and concern about student safety and rape culture on campus was discussed at a public hearing led by the Student Assembly of Cornell University.

The hearing was held in response to an investigation into the alleged rape of a woman at Cornell University in 2024. The woman, being referred to as Jane Doe, has filed a civil lawsuit against the university alleging she was drugged and raped at a fraternity house on campus.

Cornell has rejected claims that it failed to punish those involved. It has also agreed to have the case examined by an independent investigator.

The BBC's Nada Tawfik spoke to students who attended the public hearing.
