“Are you: 1) Female / 2) Single / 3) Age 30-55 / 4) A Padres fanatic / If so, you qualify!,” the post continued. “If you’re interested, send me a DM.”
The fan got flamed for using social media to find a date.
However, a recent update revealed that he had no shortage of interest, even if the interest didn’t suite his taste.
“It’s been an interesting couple of days. 100s of DMs received…Most of them from men and large women under 30. I did not have a date when I hopped in my car at 4pm yesterday. While driving I received a DM from a friend of @julie_at_law saying that I should ask her 41 year old friend to go. So I did,” the X user wrote on Thursday morning.
“She accepted and we went. By all accounts, we had a great time. Healthy conversations about a variety of topics. Our opinions didn’t always align and believe it or not…that’s OK. Most importantly, the Pads closed out the Cubs and are moving on,” he added.
Perhaps the second date will arrive when the Padres face the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS.
