The week in whoppers: AOC claims elites ‘protect’ pedophiles; New York Times gaslights on terror, and more

Make New York Post a Preferred Source The New York Times called the violent attempted terror attack aboard a flydubai flight to Israel a mere "altercation" between the pilot and co-pilot. NY Post Design Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions This culture “The culture of rape, sexual assault and pedophilia is protected in elite institutions across the United States.” — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Sunday

We say: Can AOC cite one instance of an elite American institution protecting pedophilia, or is she just rushing to sloppy, inflammatory language to ride the wave of a new moral panic?

“A plane flying from Dubai to Israel was diverted after an altercation between the pilot and co-pilot.” — New York Times, Wednesday

We say: You could call a deranged Islamist co-pilot chopping at his captain with an ax midflight an “altercation.”

But “attempted hijacking” or “terrorist attack” sure would be more accurate news.

“Black and Latino New Yorkers are not only disproportionately impacted by climate change, but also by rising utility bills.” — Mayor Mamdani, Sept. 24

We say: If climate change is a global phenomenon, it should affect everyone more or less equally.

Even if you allow for alleged “environmental racism,” the utility companies can’t charge black and Latino ratepayers more per kilowatt-hour.

“New York City can and will leverage all of the tools at its disposal to combat antisemitism effectively without needing to adopt a definition for this specific form of hate.” — “Tackling Hate,” the Mamdani strategy to fight antisemitism, Monday

We say: If the city plans to “combat antisemitism effectively,” shouldn’t it define what it aims to combat?

The mayor refuses to count vicious attacks on Zionist targets as any form of antisemitism, so his task force blinds itself to a major driver of anti-Jewish hate.

Just this once, the left doesn’t care about “root causes.”
