Ultimate Bay Area pumpkin patch with giant dinosaurs is now open for the fall season – and its free

Make California Post a Preferred Source The Bay Area’s wildest pumpkin patch is back — and this one is positively prehistoric.

Spina Farms Pumpkin Patch, located in Morgan Hill just south of San Jose, has officially opened for the fall season. And unlike plenty of increasingly pricey fall attractions, it won’t cost families a dime to walk through the gates and explore the grounds.

Once inside, visitors can wander through a sea of gourds alongside life-size animatronic dinosaurs that look like they’ve jumped straight out of Jurassic Park.

This year, towering dragons have joined the prehistoric party, adding a fantastical twist to the beloved attraction. There are also animatronic “dino babies” that bring an adorable touch to the otherwise fearsome lineup.

Together, the mystical and prehistoric beasts scattered throughout the seasonal scenery create a surreal sight, looming over pumpkins and hay bales and giving the farm a distinctly dino-mite fall atmosphere.

For those looking to turn a brisk stroll through the pumpkin patch into a full day of fun, the farm offers an array of ticketed rides and attractions, all available for purchase on-site.

Visitors can hop aboard a tractor ride and rumble through the property, getting an up-close look at the dinosaur displays along the way.

Meanwhile, pumpkin blasters let thrill-seekers take aim at targets scattered across the fields, while a winding labyrinth maze puts their navigation skills to the test.

Those eager to splurge can drop $45 on a park pass, which bundles six children’s attractions: a ride aboard the farm train, a cow-themed train, a bee-themed train, a corn maze, pumpkin blasters and a hayride.

The dino ride and pumpkin cups are not included in the pass and cost an additional $8 each.

The beloved seasonal attraction is open seven days a week, weather permitting, through Nov. 2.

And while there’s no charge to peruse the pumpkins, one potentially scary price is lurking: parking.

It’s free Monday through Thursday, but the farm charges $30 for cash-only parking Friday through Sunday.

For budget-conscious visitors, Spina Farms allows guests to bring their own food and drinks.

But those craving a seasonal snack can find plenty of options on-site, too. The patch is packed with vendors serving up comfort-food favorites, including roasted sweet corn, churros, tacos, smash burgers and pumpkin-flavored baked goods.

“This pumpkin patch is crazzzzyyy (in a great way),” one wrote on Instagram.

“This place is beyond beautiful. Who ever came up with the idea of the dinosaurs and all other activities deserves an award. We had so much fun,” another commented on TikTok.

“This place has consistently been upping their game every single year,” remarked a third.
