New details emerge in Chad Lowe daughter Fiona’s tragic death at 13

Make Page Six a Preferred Source New details have emerged in the tragic death of Chad Lowe’s 13-year-old daughter, Fiona Lowe.

According to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner, Fiona died in a hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 29, Page Six can exclusively reveal.

Reps for the Lowe family did not immediately respond to our request for comment.

They announced the teen’s death in a heartbreaking statement on Tuesday.

“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance,” her loved ones told us.

“She was adored by her sisters, and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.”

The grieving family described her passing as “devastating” and asked for “prayers and privacy at this time.”

They concluded their statement, “If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.”

Chad, the younger brother of fellow actor Rob Lowe, shared Fiona with his wife, producer Kim Painter. The two are also parents to daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.

Page Six can confirm that the parents of the students where Fiona attended middle school were sent an email from the principal Tuesday morning informing them that a student had died. The email did not name the student.

“It is with deep sadness that I am calling you to advise you of the death of one of our students,” read the email, which was obtained by Page Six. “Our sincere condolences go out to the student’s family, friends and teachers.”

The email noted that counselors would be “available to meet with students and staff who may need emotional support during this difficult time.”

Chad, 58, last posted about Fiona on Instagram in November 2025 in honor of her birthday.

“Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!” he captioned a photo showing her smiling while wearing cowboy boots. “Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!”

The Lowe-Painter family home was notably destroyed during the Palisades Fire in January 2025.
