Make New York Post a Preferred Source Josh Hart added an NBA championship to his resume this summer.
This fall, it seems as if he wants to make another addition: big league manager.
The Knicks star chimed in on the state of the Yankees-Red Sox wild-card series on Wednesday night as the Bronx Bombers blew the doors open in the bottom of the sixth inning of Game 2.
Hart slammed the Red Sox for their decision to intentionally walk Ben Rice — with a runner on second and a base open — to face Cody Bellinger.
Manager Chad Tracy’s move did not pay off, to say the least.
Bellinger skied a high drive into right, clearing the short porch in right field for a three-run homer to extend the Yankees’ lead to 8-1 (before Boston added a run on a solo shot from Nick Sogard in the top of the seventh).
Hart, in a series of posts on X, was excited as the Yankees ran up the score and looked to be nearing a sweep.
“YOU WANTED TO WALK RICE TO GET TO BELLI?! BOSTON YOU DUMB AS HELL!!!” Hart wrote. “NY RUNS BOSTON. BELLI IS HIM.”
Hart was in The Bronx just last week when he threw out the first pitch before the Yankees took on the Orioles in the nightcap of their doubleheader on Friday. He and teammate Jalen Brunson also threw out first pitches in mid-June shortly after they helped end the Knicks’ 53-year NBA title drought.
The Yankees, who had lost three straight playoff series to the Red Sox entering 2025, are on the precipice of knocking out Boston for the second straight season in the wild-card round.
