“Real Housewives of New York City” alum Bethenny Frankel revealed she’s “not exactly” amicable with ex-husband Jason Hoppy as they continue to co-parent their daughter, Bryn Hoppy.
When asked by Benny Blanco during Tuesday’s episode of the “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast if they “co-exist, Frankel replied, “We do both exist on this earth, so that’s positive.”
She also candidly confessed, “It’s been a strained year. It’s been a challenging year.”
The swimwear designer, 55, said during the appearance that her divorce from Hoppy — which was finalized in 2021 following their 2012 split — was a “traumatic” exercise she likened to “torture.”
“There were a lot of circumstances that have been too much,” the Skinnygirl founder divulged, noting their “10 years [in legal proceedings] on a two-year marriage.”
Frankel was ultimately granted primary residential custody of Bryn, who is now 16, after what she described as a “two-year marriage” followed by a “10-year, horrible, horrendous, worst-of-my-life divorce.”
Prior to her brief marriage to Hoppy, also 55, the Bravo personality was married to Peter Sussman from 1996 to 1997 — a union she said “was like it didn’t even happen.”
Despite the admitted trauma, however, Frankel gushed over her relationship with her teen daughter.
“I love her so much,” she said, noting that they are “in between” being mother and daughter and friends.

“When we vibe and we are watching something and we’re laughing, we connect,” she added.
But they can also find themselves “on different paths,” Frankel shared, quipping that they’re “very much like Thelma and Louise.”
A rep for Hoppy was not immediately available to Page Six for comment.
This isn’t the first time Frankel has shared insight into her painful split from Jason, who appeared with his ex-wife on both “RHONY” and their spinoff, titled “Bethenny Ever After.”
During a December 2025 episode of Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Frankel openly cried over the “torment” of the protracted split.
“Nothing compares to what my divorce was for 10 years. Nothing,” Frankel said at the time, noting that even her difficult childhood with her mother was “child’s play” compared to the “trauma of someone wanting to torture you and telling you that they’re going to do it.”
Frankel claimed she “lost hair” and thought she “would never survive” the split, going so far as to say she “didn’t want to.”
“I had to because of my daughter,” Frankel recalled while becoming emotional. “I literally thought, ‘I’ll never be happy again.’”
In April, Page Six exclusively revealed that the TV star was dating investment banker Shane L. Campbell, with a source telling us she’s “the happiest she’s ever been and is fully in her intentional dating era.”
