Make California Post a Preferred Source George Kittle is now 2-0 on bets that involve the Iowa Hawkeyes this college football season.
During Wednesday morning’s opening segment of “The Rich Eisen Show,” the host was seen wearing Kittle’s Iowa helmet after losing a bet to him following Saturday’s game. The Hawkeyes prevailed in a last-second 20-19 victory.
Eisen, 57, is a proud alumnus of Michigan, where he attended and graduated from the school in the late 1980s. He was forced to praise Iowa on his show.
“Boy, do I love Iowa Hawkeyes football,” Eisen said to open the show. “What do I like about Iowa Hawkeyes football? I love the continuity that they have. Kirk Ferentz has been there since 1999. That’s when he brought Phil Parker with him, too.”
Eisen’s Iowa praise continued as he went on to say the Hawkeyes “play good defense.”
The video continued for another minute. Eisen went back and forth on complaining about having to wear the helmet while also praising the school, notably for the Iowa wave in which the players wave to kids at a nearby children’s hospital, as well as the program’s culture and stability.
“A culture where America’s farmers are supported,” Eisen said.
At the end, Eisen and co-host Chris Brockman started to debate over how Michigan lost, with Eisen suggesting that Michigan lost due to the “tipped passes” Iowa had.

When Eisen settled down, Brockman suggested that he talk about some of the great tight ends to come through the school. He started to name former players including Kittle, Dallas Clark and Sam LaPorta.
For Eisen, he’s the latest victim to lose a bet to Kittle. Niners quarterback Brock Purdy came up short two weeks ago and was forced to attend his news conference in an Iowa shirt and hat.

For Kittle, he’s living his best life as his team is 3-0 to start the season, and he’s also winning off the field.
For Eisen, he probably wishes he could’ve rethought that bet.
