Cam Ward blasts threats sent to his family members after Titans’ winless start

Make New York Post a Preferred Source Cam Ward called people going after his family on social media “weird” amid the Titans’ 0-3 start to the season but said that his play on the football field would “ultimately take care of a lot of it.”

The Titans’ starting quarterback addressed the issue after his sister, Chantel Ward, posted on social media about the threatening messages she and her family received from people.

“I mean, at the end of the day, people are weird,” Ward told reporters at the Titans facility on Wednesday. “They can say whatever they want at the end of the day, but I think football will take care of a lot of it. My family knows the position I’m in and what I’ve wanted my whole life. They’re in this position as well with me.”

He added: “At the end of the day, you make plays on the football field everything else handles itself.”

The criticism of Ward has continued to grow, especially after Sunday’s loss to the Giants, during which the QB threw a pick late in the game that sealed the defeat.

Following the game, Chantel called out those who were “seeking out” a player’s family to “personally attack them.”

“Criticize the game, criticize a play, be frustrated with your team. That’s sports, and I completely understand that. But seeking out a player’s sister, parents or other family members to personally attack them because you’re upset about what happened on a football field is something completely different,” she wrote.

Chantel is reportedly not the only member of the Ward family who has used social media to defend the quarterback, but Ward reiterated that winning would change the situation.

“Every adverse situation I have, I’m going to take on. It’s really just about making plays on the football field. If I do that, we do that as a team, it’s going to cut all that out,” he said.

Ward has thrown for 504 yards through the first three games of the season and has two touchdown passes. He also has one interception to his name in 2026.
