The boy’s fatal fall was reported at around 1 p.m. at Benjamin Franklin High School, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
LAPD did not release the student’s name or age, identifying him only as a boy.

KTLA’s helicopter was over the scene around 3 p.m.; video showed a shoe on the ground beneath a taped-off area. A canopy was later put up.
The campus will remain on lockdown until law enforcement gives the all clear.
