Phil Mickelson checked into men’s addiction and trauma treatment program amid turbulent year

Make California Post a Preferred Source Phil Mickelson sought help from a men’s addiction and trauma treatment program earlier this year, a rep for the golfer confirmed to the California Post on Monday.

It’s not clear when Mickelson enrolled or how long he stayed, but the rep said he is now out of the program.

“Phil was seeking treatment for family trauma and addiction,” the rep said in a statement to The Post.

Mickelson has stayed away from professional golf for most of 2026 while tending to a family matter.

He has also additionally dealt with allegations of inappropriate conduct.

The 56-year-old was reportedly barred from a prominent golf club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. after a female employee accused him of making “nonconsensual and inappropriate physical contact” with her.

Weeks later, Pat Perez’s ex-wife, Ashley, told Skratch’s Alan Shipnuck that Mickelson had tried to seduce her in 2015 by using a naked photo of himself — all while Perez was in a nearby bathroom.

A spokeswoman for Mickelson said at the time of the Skratch report that “some of the allegations circulating about Mr. Mickelson are false” while others revisited “mistakes he has already acknowledged, publicly or privately.”

“Mr. Mickelson’s priority is to become the husband, father, and man his family deserves,” the spokeswoman said. “Right now, that means giving his full attention to a private family health matter. He understands that parts of his life are public, but his family’s private matters are not.”

The three-time Masters champion’s wife, Amy, was supporting “Mickelson and their family with extraordinary grace” and “unwavering love” at the time of the report, the spokeswoman added, but Mickelson’s spouse was spotted in July without her wedding ring and has not been photographed in public since.

TMZ was first to report the news of Mickelson’s treatment program.
