“Real Housewives of New York City” star Sai De Silva revealed the breaking point in her marriage to David Craig was when he charged her birthday dinner to her credit card.
De Silva, 45, opened up about her marital problems to her aunt, Sufia, on Tuesday’s episode of the Bravo show, filmed before Craig filed for divorce in April.
“He takes me to a very expensive restaurant, and we had a beautiful time,” the reality star said. “We came home. We had amazing sex. Everything was great. I was like, ‘Okay, all right, I feel this.'”
But De Silva said when she looked at the couple’s bills, she realized “the f–king dinner was on my credit card.”
“I said, ‘David! You made me pay for my own dinner? My own birthday dinner?” she recalled, adding, “And that’s when I knew… what’s left?”
Earlier in her conversation with her aunt, De Silva explained why she thought Craig would stay with her despite there being “never any affection” in their relationship.
“I think he liked the illusion of being my husband,” she said. “I think he liked the illusion of being a family unit, and I think he likes the lifestyle.”
De Silva admitted to her aunt that “ideally, I would like a divorce,” but said that when she approached Craig about that, he had an “aggressive” response, so they agreed to separate.
The Bravo star also said that if the pair didn’t share two kids, daughter London, 14, and son Rio, 8, their marriage “would’ve been a wrap a long time ago.”
During De Silva’s appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” on Tuesday night, she confirmed the exes “are still going through a divorce.”
Additionally, she said Craig’s decision to file for divorce “without letting me know” was the “moment when I felt like there was no going back.”
De Silva also told host Andy Cohen that co-parenting with Craig is “not great.”

Craig filed for divorce from the influencer after almost nine years of marriage in NYC on April 2, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.
Three days later, De Silva thanked fans for their support in a social media statement.
“I’m overwhelmed by all your messages and it truly means more than you know,” she wrote. “My heart is with my children, and my focus is on giving them as much stability and love as possible.”
De Silva and Craig met during a getaway to Costa Rica in 2009 and tied the knot in June 2017.
In a 2023 Bravo blog post, De Silva shared that Craig was “very involved when it comes to his family” and labeled him the “perfect guy.”
She did, however, joke that Craig — who shies away from the public eye — was “a terrible Instagram husband.”
