Make Page Six a Preferred Source Prince Harry isn’t taking part in Remembrance Day events because he has “no desire to create drama” and distract from the observance.
“He’s not going to do anything that would pull focus from the Royal Family or the national commemorations at the Cenotaph in London,” a source close to the situation told Hello! Wednesday.
The insider shared that Harry, who served in the British military for 10 years from 2005 to 2015, will most likely “mark it in the same way that most veterans do, privately, either at church or at their local war memorial’s annual service.”
They continued, “For Harry, Remembrance Sunday is a deeply personal and important occasion, a time to honour those who have served, remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and stand alongside veterans.”
The source insisted that the Duke of Sussex “has no desire to create drama or do anything that could distract from his family’s role in the national commemorations.”
On Remembrance Day, the royal family leads the nation in honoring service members who died in war by attending solemn national ceremonies, laying poppy wreaths and joining the public, veterans, and political leaders for a two-minute silence.
Charles and Prince William are expected to attend the annual National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London.
Harry last attended the official national Remembrance Sunday commemorations alongside the royal family in November 2019, before he and his wife, Meghan Markle, resigned from their royal duties.
As Page Six previously reported, Harry and Markle relocated to the UK last month with their two kids, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
The monarch and his eldest son are reportedly “completely united on the Sussexes not representing the royal family.”

The duo is reportedly “without a doubt … in sync” on the matter, according to author Russell Myers.
The former military pilot has not divulged the reason behind his relocation. However, Page Six previously reported he wanted to be closer to dad King Charles III, who is currently battling cancer.
Notably, William and his wife, Kate Middleton, are estranged from Harry and Markle, while Charles has spoken to the Duke of Sussex since he moved back to England.
William, 44, believes Charles’ connection to Harry is “entirely up to him,” according to Myers, while the Prince of Wales will reportedly “have no relationship with them, in a working or private capacity whatsoever.”
Since their shock move, Harry has made a few public outings, while Markle has yet to fully break cover.
Last week, Page Six exclusively obtained photos of the “Suits” alum chatting with Ellen DeGeneres at a pub. DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, similarly fled California for the UK.
