Make New York Post a Preferred Source Dante Moore addressed the controversial hit that led to him being taken off the field in an ambulance and left him with a concussion.
University of Southern California linebacker Desman Stephens II made a vicious hit to the head on the Ducks QB, leaving Moore on the ground for a lengthy period of time before he was taken off on a stretcher and over to a waiting ambulance.
Just two days later, Moore said he’s “made progress” since Saturday night in a post on Instagram.
“To my team, the community, and to the World, thank you. These past 2 days have been very difficult, but through all of your prayers I have made progress,” Moore wrote on the social media platform. “There’s times I question myself and the Lord and say Why now? but I quickly remember Jeremiah 29:11: ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’
“I can only worry about today, and making sure I give today it’s full attention. I’ll be back soon. Go Ducks!”
Oregon coach Dan Lanning announced on Sunday that Moore had suffered a concussion and that the MRI and CT scans had come back clean and showed no additional injuries.
There is no timeline for when Moore is expected to return this season.
Lanning also indicated that they would move forward with “an abundance of caution,” something that he reiterated during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“It’s one of those situations where we got to protect a player from himself,” Lanning said. “I’m sure he’s anxious to get out on the field, but want to make sure we go through that process and make sure that he’s healthy, and Dylan’s a great example; we talk about strength in numbers, a guy being ready for his moment.
“To go out there and play every snap if it’s needed, and a lot of times it doesn’t happen, and it happened in the game on Saturday, and he was ready for it, and he executed at a really high level and gave us an opportunity and a chance to be in the game and win.”
