Make California Post a Preferred Source New Sacramento Kings guard Ben Simmons and his teammate Zach LaVine received an awkward welcome from several reporters during the team’s media day.
A live stream of the Kings’ press conference caught a few women in the room speaking about the players in between interviews. One reporter was seemingly asking which player had been speaking the podium.
“Ben Simmons. Ben Simmons was, that’s what comes with being Ben Simmons. Cringe. Cringe!” another woman responded.
“He’s lucky he’s so fine,” one reporter said.
“He’s a good looking dude! I didn’t notice, his skin is so smooth. I was like, damn, no tattoos?” said another.
One male reporter said that that former Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole was the woman’s type, to which the woman said, “Allegedly, I like lightskins, I guess.”
The male reporter then asked about Kings guard Zach LaVine.
“Hella fine!” the woman responded about LaVine. “I mean, his personality annoys the s*** out of me, so that’s what makes him less fine.”
“Zach is cute, but his personality f****** annoys me,” added the other woman. “He just seems like he’s hella, like a p****… He’s beautiful.”
LaVine exercised his $49 million player option for the 2026–27 season with the Kings back in June while Simmons signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with Sacramento earlier this month after sitting out the 2025-26 NBA season.
One of the women then joked that they should do a story ranking the attractiveness of Kings players.
“I think I’d actually put Ben over Zach. Just because I don’t like Zach,” added another.
“They’re about the same age, but Ben looks way younger. I was like dang, what’s your lotion?” said another.
All of this was caught on the live stream, a clip of which is now going viral on social media.
It’s unclear who the reporters speaking were. They’re probably hoping it remains that way.
