In the wake of the Rams’ controversial loss, a video of Stafford spitting in the Broncos’ tunnel went viral.
Bleacher Report’s James Palmer posted the video, which has amassed over 270,000 views in 15 hours and sparked a lot of speculation about what Stafford might have been spitting at.
Some social media users are speculating that he was spitting at the Broncos’ “5280” sign, which represents Denver’s elevation. But that isn’t confirmed because the video doesn’t show where Stafford’s spit landed.
Regardless, Broncos fans are not happy about the Rams quarterback spitting in their tunnel, regardless of what it was directed it.
The Broncos’ win came with controversy because of a pass interference penalty against Rams cornerback Josh Wallace. He intercepted a pass that would have sealed Los Angeles’ win, but the penalty wiped away the turnover.
It wasn’t Stafford’s sharpest game, as his 390 passing yards and two touchdowns also came with two interceptions, one of which was returned for a Broncos touchdown.
Now the Rams, who many predicted to win the Super Bowl this season, are 1-2 and face the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles on the road next weekend.
