Corey Sipkin for the NY POST The Giants spent their Sunday afternoon outside playing in the rain and wind when they finally came inside, they were on the right end of a 12-7 victory over the Titans that came down to the final seconds and required a game-saving play to seal the deal.
Here are some ruminations coming out of the Week 3 game of “Survivor” the Giants are engaged in this season:

1.This was … a first. The Giants are now 2-0 in their current home to start their season and the last time they accomplished that seemingly modest achievement was … never. The last time the Giants won their first two home games in a season was 2009 and that was their last year playing at Giants Stadium. That was the year Bruce Springsteen released “Wrecking Ball’’ as an ode to Giants Stadium and the teardown that leveled the Giants home since 1976. The Giants played their first game at MetLife Stadium in the preseason leading into the 2010 season.
2. Were we too harsh on Jameis Winston? Should we not be so critical of his performance (14 of 22, 118 yards, passer rating of 77.5) amid all the rain and wind? Everyone knows the gunslinger reputation Winston has cultivated in his 12-year career and this Giants coaching staff wants him to shed that reputation and not put the ball in harm’s way. Has that created a hesitant quarterback afraid to make a mistake?
