After pulling off a wild 35-27 victory against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, five-time pro bowler Maxx Crosby on what’s ahead.
“It’s a great F—ing win. But we’ve got a great f—ing team coming into town,” Crosby said. “We already know what it is. It’s the f—ing Kansas City Chiefs.”
“Enjoy this s— tonight, take of your bodies, and we’re on a f—ing warpath to get what we want, man.”
Since Crosby’s rookie year in 2019, the Chiefs have had their number, winning 11 of the last 14 games.
The last time they played, Las Vegas had the last laugh when they knocked off Kansas City, 14-12 — despite the Raiders not having Crosby, who was on the team’s injured reserve.
Las Vegas wasn’t the only team that was shorthanded that day, as the Chiefs were without three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was nursing a torn ACL.
Mahomes has returned to the football field since the injury and has already looked like his old self.
On Sunday, Mahomes threw two touchdowns, for 246 yards and completed 20 of 24 passes in their 24-10 victory against the Miami Dolphins.
The Raiders are 3-0 to start the season and are off to their best start since 2021. A big reason for their early success is new head coach Klint Kubiak.
On Sunday, the Raiders were trailing 27-16 with 5:46 left in the third quarter but would rally together for a comeback victory against the Saints. That is a scenario other Raiders teams would have folded.
Preseason standout rookie running back Mike Washington got the team rallying with a 35-yard rushing touchdown. Las Vegas would then pull ahead with a four-yard touchdown reception by Cody White to give them a 28-27 lead.
Brock Bowers helped increase their lead when he gave the game its final score, with a four-yard touchdown reception from Kirk Cousins.
Bowers, who missed the team’s first two games of the season due to having his meniscus trimmed, came back strong on Sunday. He had a stellar performance, catching 10 receptions for 116 yards and the lone touchdown catch.
