Make Page Six a Preferred Source Chris Hansen shared his brutally honest review of Robert Pattinson’s “bizarre” portrayal of him after watching “Primetime.”
“It was so bizarre and so in-and-out of reality,” the journalist said on his “Have A Seat With Chris Hansen” podcast Friday.
“Obviously, I’m not objective because the character is, you know, me, but it was so detached from reality or anything I’ve experienced then or now doing the investigation,” he added
“I’m not sure what the point of it was.”
Hansen, who famously caught alleged pedophiles on “To Catch a Predator” from 2004 to 2007, criticized Pattinson’s performance, saying his “version of Chris Hansen” was “so detached, so unhinged, so dark, so unlikeable.”
“I mean, it’s upset my colleagues, current and former.” Hansen, 67, explained, adding that he had about 13 members of his former crew see the film with him.
Hansen also slammed director Lance Oppenheim, 30, for having a “dark image of what he wanted to do.”
“He wanted to create a horror-like film with interesting photography and didn’t want to hear anything else,” Hansen claimed. “[He] didn’t want to have his mind polluted by anything positive that this actually achieved over the last 22 years.”

The former “Killer Instinct” host said Hollywood is trying to “demonize” him and turn him into a “bad guy” for “doing what I think is very good work” catching pedophiles.
“You have to question the motives of not coming forward and talking to me or anybody who I worked closely with over the years,” he said.
“And they didn’t want to hear that Chris Hansen is a good guy. They didn’t want to hear that this work is important,” Hansen added.
“In a way, it’s a hit piece on me and the series, which is weird.”
Page Six has reached out to reps for both Pattinson and Oppenheim for comment but did not immediately hear back.
In August, Hansen previously shaded the decision to cast the “Twilight” star, 40, as him in the psychological crime thriller.
“I didn’t get to choose my own guy,” he said on the “Serialously” podcast at the time, while discussing his thoughts on the forthcoming A24 movie.
“I always thought — I had discussions years ago, I had crafted a script — Denis Leary [would] play me, depending on the age of it all,” he shared.
Hansen recognized that Hollywood wanted a “commercial endeavor to succeed.”
In response, Pattinson said he hoped Hansen would like the film.
“I would hope, in some ways, the amount of inspiration that his character has given so many people who are involved in this for years now,” the “Batman” actor said at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month.
“I hope it’s some kind of compliment,” he added.
