A dog stranded on a narrow ledge at the bottom of a 40ft (12m) cliff next to a waterfall has been safely retrieved thanks to the efforts of a volunteer-run rescue team.
Yorkshire Dales charity Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue responded to the incident at the well-known Pecca Falls, in Ingleton, after 15:15 BST on Saturday.
Eight-year-old Labrador Penny had fallen into the river before becoming stuck after climbing up to a rocky outcrop 6.5ft (2m) above the water.
Using a rope system, a volunteer was lowered to the ledge to reach the dog before she was "hauled back up the gorge where she was reunited with her owners".
The fire service's Ripon swiftwater rescue team provided support downstream from where Penny was stranded.

CRO is based in Clapham and provides services across the Yorkshire Dales National Park, extending into Lancashire and Cumbria.
Formed in 1935, it currently has more than 80 volunteers who regularly attend mountain and cave rescues, as well as assisting in other public service incidents.
Penny isn't the first pet the charity has saved after a tumble at Pecca Falls, which features five falls dropping a total of more than 30m (98ft).
In March this year, the team used a similar rope pulley system to rescue a dog that had fallen 26.2ft (8m) and also become stuck on a narrow ledge.
