Make Page Six a Preferred Source Prince Harry fulfilled a promise to skydive with a 102-year-old veteran, and immediately phoned his worried wife, Meghan Markle, afterward to tell her he landed safely.
The royal made the jump in Toronto on Friday to raise awareness and money for two Canadian military charities, True Love Patriot Foundation and Sunnybrook. He was also promoting the Invictus Games, which takes place in Birmingham in 2027.
Last year, he met WWII veteran Ed Marshall, who told the Prince he had skydived on his 100th birthday. Harry was so moved by his derring-do that he promised Marshall he would skydive with him when he returned to Toronto.
“I’m not in the business of letting people down, but you cannot let a 102-year-old veteran down,” he explained. He also gushed about Canada, sharing that, “I love Canada. My wife lived here for seven years; most people thought that she was Canadian. Look, Canada has a very special, a special place in my heart.”
Harry told CTV that although he didn’t need to “convince” Markle, she was “very relieved once we were down.”
“It took a while to get up, so I think she was like, ‘Are they down yet? Are they down yet?”‘
The Duke also kissed the ground after he landed safely.
The royal couple made headlines last month when they moved back to the UK with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, after several years of living in Montecito, California.
“It’s been great to be back on British soil,” he gushed, adding that “The kids are happy in school and it gives me a chance to really focus on Invictus in Birmingham.”
Prince Harry was coy about why they moved back, telling the reporter that it was for “lots of reasons.”

The children had been enrolled in a prep school in the UK, but because of travel logistics and security, were pulled out after just two days and enrolled in a new school.
Earlier last week, Harry made a quick visit to New York to speak at the Clinton Global Initiative.
The couple has been coy about why they moved back so suddenly. They famously left in 2020 following the birth of Prince Archie, and quit their duties as working members of the royal family.
