Dairy Queen unveils first-ever Halloween menu with a few spooky surprises

Make New York Post a Preferred Source We all scream for Dairy Queen.

To prepare for Halloween, the ice cream-centric fast food chain has announced its first themed menu for the spooky holiday — coined the Spellbound Series — complete with a fresh drink, dessert and sauce.

First on the list is the Bubble Brew DQ Sparkler. The modern-day witch’s brew combines blood orange and lemonade with sparkling water over ice, topped with cold foam.

In a statement, DQ advised its customers to “stir to activate the magic,” adding that “the more you stir, the more it bubbles and foams.”

Dairy Queen’s new Halloween collection, the Spellbound Series, features a limited-time lineup of bubbling brews, an enchanted Blizzard Treat, and a collectible DQ Mystery Blizzard Buddy plush keychain. Dairy Queen Next comes the Enchanted Oreo Blizzard Treat — DQ’s ghostly version of its famous blended soft-serve. The Halloween take includes Oreo cookies, a sweet ube-flavored base and “an enchanted purple shimmer.”

Rounding out the skeleton crew of new treats is a spicy Ghost Pepper Sauce, which the brand deems “perfect for pairing with a four-piece Chicken Strip Basket.”

Additionally, hardcore fans of DQ, Halloween or both can pick up a limited-edition Blizzard Buddy (a keychain plushie version of the frozen sweet treat) with their order for $4, with a limit of one per customer.

The stuffies come in mystery packaging, so fans can try their luck at collecting all five versions — sweetly named Brrrnie, Blizabeth, Blenda, Flip and Goldie.

The last of the bunch, Goldie, is the rarest and packs a special surprise.

Dairy Queen is introducing its new Halloween collection, the Spellbound Series, featuring a limited-time lineup of treats and a collectible Mystery Blizzard Buddy plush keychain. Dairy Queen Ten fans in the U.S. and 10 in Canada who are lucky enough to end up with the golden stuffed keychain will get “Blizzard treats for a year,” awarded as DQ gift cards.

The limited-time menu will be available for DQ customers starting September 28 to celebrate the spooky season, finishing its haunting run on November 1.

The Halloween fun comes at a scary time for Dairy Queen, as the brand has been in a franchise meltdown since early 2025, closing at least 46 locations nationwide.

Three Alaskan DQ locations in Anchorage, Wasilla and Palmer all shut down at the start of July, leaving the 49th state with just one Blizzard maker left, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
