Make New York Post a Preferred Source The Pennsylvania doctor who was stabbed to death in his bed called out his killer by name before he was fatally slashed, according to a criminal complaint.
Idris Evans, a pediatric critical care physician, called out “Elijah” during the middle-of-the-night attack as if he knew him, his wife said after witnessing her husband’s horrific murder, according to the complaint obtained by WPXI.
She said she didn’t know suspect Elijah Hemingway, 32, who allegedly broke into the family’s home and crept into their third-floor bedroom to launch the disturbing attack, according to the docs.
Hemingway claimed to have been invited to the home, but officials found no evidence to back his story, the outlet reported.
“We do not know if there was any preexisting relationship, though the female victim did not know this male, we are trying to determine if the two males knew each other, if at all,” said Vic Joseph, Assistant Superintendent of the Allegheny County Police Department.
