Add The California Post on Google Some of the country’s biggest celebrities and FOX stars donned hard hats on Thursday to help rebuild family homes devastated by the Palisades wildfires.
It’s part of a four-day community build from Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles involving actors, reality stars, celebrity chefs and top VIP’s who pitched in to help with rebuilding efforts for those impacted by the January 2025 wildfires in Pacific Palisades and Malibu neighborhoods.
Actress Bellamy Young, actor Joshua Jackson, TV host Melissa Rivers, actress Betzaida Landin, and even famed boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, were there.
The stars worked alongside hundreds of volunteers to help wildfire survivors who lost their homes in the devastating blaze.
There was also leadership on hand from top film companies like Paramount, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros. Discovery.
Pictures from the event showed the celebrities having a great time as they helped put up framing walls for two new rebuilds.
“This multi-day effort brings together community members, builders, and corporate partners to begin framing new homes, complete the final touches on another, provide critical repairs to smoke-damaged homes and revitalize impacted community spaces,” a press release about the event read.
“Over 500 volunteers, including wildfire survivors, local residents, corporate, civic, entertainment, media partners, construction professionals, skilled trades, and community organizations from across Los Angeles” teamed up to help impacted residents get closer to moving back home, the release added.
The 2025 blaze destroyed nearly 7,000 structures, displacing thousands of LA households. The project is part of the Community Build helping wildfire victims who have a financial gap to rebuilding their home, officials said.
Nearly 1,000 homes are under construction after the devastating wildfires which burned more than 23,000 acres.
The nonprofit organization has helped rebuild homes devastated by natural disasters since the 1994 Northridge earthquake, the press announcement read.
“Habitat LA is here to help restore stability and hope for those impacted by disasters, prioritizing support for low-income households that are uninsured, underinsured—those that are the most vulnerable.”
The group has currently approved 160 households and close to 170 more are in the pipeline that meet their eligibility criteria.
In addition to the rebuild, Samsung will be fully furnishing a home with appliances and consumer electronics. The electronics company is working with the organization to hand out $1 million in appliances to wildfire survivors, according to the release.
