Donald Trump’s daughter wore a robin’s egg blue dress by Chinese designer Guo Pei while at the White House for President Xi Jinping’s state visit.
The first daughter’s look featured a quartet of square pockets on the chest and hips, along with a matching cap featuring bell sleeves. Both were embroidered with intricate white threadwork.
She wore her hair in a sleek chignon and was joined by 15-year-old daughter Arabella Kushner, who wore a white belted midi dress by Self-Portrait, a favorite of the Princess of Wales’.
Blue was the theme of the visit, with Vice President JD Vance sporting a cobalt tie and wife Usha matching in a sleeveless silk Saloni dress in the same hue.
Ivanka’s choice of designer is fitting, as Guo Pei is widely considered the most famous Chinese fashion designer. She previously went viral in 2015, when Rihanna walked the Met Gala red carpet in a stunning yellow gown of her design nodding to that year’s “China: Through the Looking Glass” theme.
The dress was rendered in a striking canary yellow color, trimmed in fur and weighed a whopping 55 pounds. The yards-long train stretched down the Metropolitan Museum of Art stairs, yielding instantly iconic photos that sparked endless memes.
Melania Trump and Madame Peng Liyuan visited Smithsonian’s National Museum Of Asian Art on Thursday, with the first lady opting for a black bouclé Alexander McQueen skirt suit. On Wednesday night, FLOTUS joined the president in greeting the couple, clad in a black Givenchy skirt suit layered over a white Gap T-shirt.
A state dinner will be held tonight at the White House.
