Thekla’s All In absence redefining her next AEW chapter heading into All Out: ‘Got a lot of sympathy’ By Joseph Staszewski Published Sep. 24, 2026, 11:45 a.m. ET Thekla believes it was likely for the best to not have had a match at AEW’s biggest show this year — even though it came with some disappointment.
The 33-year-old Austrian star had her 165-day reign as AEW Women’s World champion ended by Willow Nightingale at the Redemption pay-per-view in July, meaning it was her rival, and not her, facing Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winner Mercedes Moné later that month during All In at Wembley Stadium.
It afforded her time off for a trip to Cabo, but she said dealing with things like that is part of being a professional, even after a great first two years in AEW.
“Some part of me was obviously upset because it’s f–king Wembley. It’s in front of 50,000 people in Europe, which I haven’t even remotely done,” Thekla said. “It would have been the biggest gig of my life so far. But I like that I’m still in the [title] case. … You have to be a little humble and you have to know your moment.”
