International Organisation for Mediation can handle disputes among three Greater Bay Area jurisdictions, secretary general Teresa Cheng says
2-MIN READ2-MIN ListenJess MaPublished: 11:44pm, 24 Sep 2026An intergovernmental mediation body headquartered in Hong Kong is poised to play an important role in resolving cross-border disputes within the Greater Bay Area, as well as multinational disagreements tied to countries in the Belt and Road Initiative, former and incumbent justice ministers have said.
The bay area is the central government’s scheme to link Hong Kong, Macau and nine cities in neighbouring Guangdong province into an integrated economic and business hub.
