The crushing news of second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart’s season-ending surgery on his left knee leaves the remainder of the 2026 season in the veteran hands and legs of Winston, even if the 32-year-old backup didn’t inspire confidence over his ineffectual final three quarters in Monday’s 28-6 loss to the Rams.
Giants coach John Harbaugh left open the possibility Wednesday of Dart recovering in time for the playoffs if the team can qualify without the 2025 first-round pick. He also acknowledged the Giants plan to bring in another quarterback via signing or trade, but stressed that Winston will be the starter.
“The only way is forward for us with Jameis as our quarterback,” offensive lineman Jon Runyan Jr. told The Post’s Steve Serby. “Everybody has full faith and trust in Jameis to get this thing going the way we still expect it to.”
