Add The California Post on Google San Francisco and San Jose were named as some of the best markets for home sellers in the US.
A ranking shared by WalletHub of the top 15 buyer’s and seller’s markets put both cities in the top 10, with San Francisco landing at No. 2 overall and San Jose taking the eighth spot.
Rochester, NY, took the No. 1 spot, with Syracuse, NY, Hartford, Conn., and Albany, NY, rounding out the top five.
For the best buyer’s markets, Jackson, Miss., ranked No. 1, followed by Cape Coral and Miami in Florida.
This comes after WalletHub released a ranking of the best real estate markets featuring three California cities listed among the top 30 markets in the US.
In that study, Irvine came in at No. 10, while Roseville and Santa Clara were listed as 12th and 29th, respectively.
The median cost of a home in the Golden State reached $930,260 in May, a 2.3% increase from April and a 3.1% increase from the same time last year.
At the same time, the Bay Area recorded a 3.6% jump in the median price for a single-family home in May. The median price in the Bay Area for a home that month was $1.45 million.
