Add The California Post on Google Aside from having aspirations for a long and healthy career in the NFL, Fernando Mendoza still has intentions of using his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Cal Berkeley.
On Wednesday, Mendoza promoted his new educational video series called “Finance with Fernando,” which is partnered with US Bank.
The partnership with Mendoza and US Bank originally began on April 7 this year, when the two sides announced a partnership with the top overall pick from the 2026 NFL Draft serving as “Chief Financial Playmaker,” where he will provide insights for the bank’s new financial guidance program.
“I’m Fernando Mendoza, pro quarterback. But my true passion is fiscal responsibility,” Mendoza said in his advertisement. “Let’s flippin go.”
The goal of the series is to give the younger Gen Z audience a “practical guide” about finances.
Subscribers will have the opportunity to learn about 401K contributions and will also have what he calls “the ultimate prize,” which is Mendoza giving recommendations on LinkedIn.
Mendoza’s active presence on LinkedIn dates back to when he was in college, notably when he was seen regularly updating it during Indiana’s sensational season last year, when he was crowned the Heisman Trophy winner and led the Hoosiers to a National Championship.
Mendoza went on to be selected with the No.1 overall pick of last year’s NFL Draft.
Before transferring to Indiana in 2025, he spent two years at California, where he reportedly had a 3.4 GPA.
Since the NFL season began two weeks ago, Mendoza’s presence in advertisements has been put on full display, as State Farm launched a new commercial that showcased his wholesome personality.
While Mendoza is about to embark on a new journey teaching finances to a younger crowd, he is currently awaiting to become the long-term answer at quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders, as he is currently the team’s backup and is learning behind Kirk Cousins.
